Starting Nursery
We want to ensure that leaving your child in our care is a positive experience. It is important to us that you are relaxed and reassured. With this in mind, we have a clear and robust settling in procedure.
Settling in
Once you have enrolled your child with us we will arrange for you to attend ‘settling in visits’. These visits are designed for you and your child to become familiar with the environment and to begin to build relationships with the staff team. First visits usually last around 1 hour and we ask that you stay and play. This is a great opportunity for us to ask questions and get to know as much as we can about your little one.
We recommend four visits over a two-week period, although we can be flexible depending on the child, extending the length of visit each time. After the first visit, you may stay if you wish, or you are welcome to leave your child with us for a short period of time. We will happily make you a cuppa in our waiting area whilst you stay in ‘ear shot’ of your little one.
Ideally, before your child attends a full paying session with us, they will have experienced all aspects of the nursery day eg. mealtimes, sleep times, group activities etc. during the settling in visits.
The £50 registration fee covers the cost of all settling in visits.
